Prior to co-founding InterContext, an international consulting firm specializing in the facilitation of change in Business and Higher Education, Gerrit worked as Senior Manager for Organization and Human Resources Development at Europay International, MasterCard’s European Alliance Partner; as Training Manager for DHL Worldwide Express (Europe and Africa); as Director of
 

Training and Organizational Development for Citicorp's Global Payment Products Division, and as Senior Internal Organizational Development Consultant to Citibank's consumer businesses in Australia and Asia.

Gerrit also held positions in higher education and industry as Associate Dean of Executive Development and Continuing Education, University of Tampa; Director of Conference Services, University of Miami; Director of International Conference Centers, Temple University; Visiting Professor in Organizational Behavior at Illinois Benedictine University; Associate Professor of Psychology, Peirce College and Sales Manager for Omnicrete Constructors Corporation and the Lehigh Portland Cement Company.

Educated in Germany and the United States, he holds a B.A. in History, an M.A. in Counselling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Human Resources Development.

His interests focus on managerial responsibility, employee rights, learning transfer from the classroom to the job, the evaluation and measurement of Human Resources Development, and organizational systems change.

He was a recipient of the State of Florida's Walter Clausen Award for contributions to public vocational education and was cited as “Human Resources Development Professional of the Year" in 1990 by the American Society for Training and Development

Dr. Knodt is Professor of Human Resources Management at Audencia, Ecole de Management in Nantes, France.
